The Rio Surf n Stay and the Brazilian shaper Victor Vascolcellos have joined forces togheter to better serve their customers with a on site surf shop.

The Shaper

Victor Vasconcellos is one of the most experienced brazilian shapers

with over 30 year of experince and 28.000 surfboards shaped by hand.

Since the 70´s Victor has been keeping a surf team of Brazilian surfers with names as: Pepe Lopes, Cauli Rodrigues, Felipe Martins (70´s) Fred D'Orey, Waldir Vargas, Bita (SC), Lima (SC), Taiu (sp), Alemão de Pernambuco (SP), Felipe Silveira (RS), Guga Arruda (sc), Jojo de Olivença, Ricardo Martins, Joca Secco, Renato Phebo, Guto Carvalho, Sergio Noronha (80´s) Guilherme Gross, Rodrigo Dornelles, Marcelo Trekinho, Bernardo Pigmeu ( 90´s) and nowdays Daniel Hardman, Rodrigo Resende, Jorge Pinto Spanner, Robson Gobatto, Danilo Couto, Hizunome Betero, Saulo Jr., Marcelo Nunes are amoungst some on the surfers that use his boards.

After traveling to the main surf spots around the glove, Australia, Africa, Indonesia and Hawaii, working in differrent surf factories was the best option for earning some money, keep traveling and exchenge experinces with the local shapers. With his experinece, Victor received and invitation to work in Sidney, Australia at Force 9, which was one of the sponsors for Gary Green, top surfer and the time, and at Pipedream in the Gold Coast, where he worked with Murray Bourton, top shaper in OZ.

Afterall his main abroad experience was when invited to work in Hawaii for 5 years with Glen Minami from Blue Hawaii. During this time Victor refined his tecnique specially in surf boards for big waves, making boards for top surfers as Sunny Garcia and Ross Willians.

Victor Vasconcellos is licensed for RIP CURL in Brazil, and produces boards for Kite Surfing as well.

The Surf Shop

The on site surfshop, allows all customers from the Rio Surf n´ Stay to personally contact Victor and consult him about what Surfboard best fits their needs. Surfboards from the rack or custom made are available with very good quality and price.
